Dan Flynn, our founder, brings a wealth of experience from his dynamic journey in the creative industries.

As a wide-eyed toddler, Dan was captivated by parks, rides, and the thrill of adventure, always vying for the front of the queue. This early passion for excitement laid the foundation for his remarkable journey: from earning a black belt at 15 to playing as a semi-pro footballer by 17, and later, becoming a professional DJ aged 20.

Following his passion for DJing and music culture, Dan launched the award-winning Manchester-based club night, So Flute which continues to please jazz and soul lovers across the country to this day.

In his twenties, Dan's quest for adventure took him across the globe, as marketing lead for Soundwave Croatia and Nova Batida Lisbon whilst also working closely with Outlook and Dimensions festivals. This experience provided invaluable insights into crafting launch strategies and executing innovative tactics to sell tickets.

With a stint at the award-winning festival and events marketing agency Mustard Media – where he worked with no less than twenty-five festivals, events and arts venues – Dan honed his skills on the agency side, further broadening his perspective and refining his approach to marketing and events.

Having led the hugely successful Van Gogh Alive UK tour, Dan gained valuable experience promoting large-scale art events and broadened further from working with Backyard Cinema, Factory International and Sony Music.

Aged 34, Dan founded Manakin Marketing, channelling his passion for events and festivals into a thriving marketing agency. Armed with an International Business and Marketing degree and a wealth of experience, Dan's relentless pursuit of new challenges and unwavering dedication to adventure continues to drive his remarkable success story.
